The stair in the African American history museum by David Adjaye is just spectacular.. I heard the building admission is sold out until spring and it has definitely moved D.C. higher on my destination list. All the press and photos hint that this will be one of our country’s great architectural treasures. I saw this on @adjayeassociates Instagram feed
And where that stair is a layering of different textures reflecting light in myriad ways this one is like carved out of one solid block of matte white softness. I had never heard of Jorge Mealha but I will be watching out for his work now.. seen on dezeen
